Michael S. Firstenberg
Dr. Michael S. Firstenberg, MD, FACC, FAIM, is a cardiothoracic surgeon practicing at the Maui Memorial Medical Center, Hawaii, USA. He holds appointments in the Colleges of Medicine and Graduate Studies at Northeast Ohio Medical University, USA. He attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, USA, received his general surgery training at university hospitals in Cleveland, and completed fellowships at The Ohio State University and The Cleveland Clinic, USA. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, and a founding fellow and past president of the American College of Academic International Medicine. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters, as well as edited textbooks on topics including medical leadership, patient safety, COVID-19, and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Dr. Firstenberg has given lectures all over the world.
